Accountability

Where the money goes, and what it has built

Transparency is not a promise — it is built into the platform.

How do we know the money actually helps the child?

A fair question — and the reason the Nofam platform exists. Monitoring and evaluation is embedded in the platform itself — real-time data on school performance, healthcare and sponsorship continuity — backed by dedicated M&E staff, quarterly stakeholder reviews, and baseline and endline assessments per project cycle. Communities are heard too: caregiver forums, CSO consultations and faith-based dialogues make children and communities active contributors to monitoring, not just beneficiaries. Every shilling is traceable from sponsor to child:

1
Linked to a child, not a pot
Every child has a profile on the Nofam platform. Support is tied to that child — never to a general fund.
2
Released against real costs
Funds go to Nofam Uganda's programme account and are released to partners against agreed budgets per child.
3
Verified on the ground
Our monitoring team checks delivery — school attendance, meals, health visits — during regular partner visits.
4
Reported back to you
Photos, school reports and updates flow back to the sponsor through the platform. Independent audits and regular reporting cover the rest.

Built to outlast donor funding

Sustainability is at the heart of our approach — communities themselves take ownership of child support systems. And we are deliberately building our own revenue — a share of sponsorship proceeds, entrepreneurship, real-estate projects and Faerly — so that Nofam Uganda can stand without donor dependency.

Local capacity
Training grassroots CSOs and faith-based institutions in child programming, digital tools and resource mobilization.
Diversified resources
Corporate CSR, scholarships and health insurance packages reduce dependency on international donors.
Government alignment
Integration with the Ministry of Education and Sports and national health systems embeds the work in existing structures.
Shared knowledge
Evidence reports, case studies and digital resources stay accessible to partners for replication and scaling.
Community ownership
Caregivers, sponsors and local leaders help design, monitor and hold programmes to account — sponsorship as a shared responsibility, not an external intervention.
