The challenge

Why Uganda, why now

Uganda is a youthful nation — more than half its population is under 18. That potential is held back by poverty and its consequences, felt hardest in rural and conflict-affected regions:

A child can miss school when the basics around them aren't in place. Education sponsorship is our flagship and entry point — around it, three areas make the impact hold: a strong grassroots network, health and wellbeing, and the support systems every child needs.

We enrol and strengthen local CSOs with visibility, credibility and tools — connecting isolated initiatives to a trusted platform and to sponsors worldwide.
Child health and wellbeing
Child-friendly healthcare, health insurance partnerships and accurate health information — because a healthy child is a hopeful child.
Strengthening child support systems
Empowered caregivers, child protection mechanisms in schools, churches and communities — safe, nurturing environments free from violence.

Education sponsorship opens the door — health, protection and strong support systems keep it open.

Child Education Sponsorship — flagship

Through the Nofam online system we match children with sponsors transparently and efficiently, working with local child-sponsorship organizations for community ownership. Media partnerships raise the platform's visibility locally and internationally, corporate partners extend sponsorship through CSR, and children gain linkages to vocational training and future employment.

Building the grassroots network

Mapping and enrolling grassroots CSOs, strengthening their capacity in child programming and the Nofam platform, and supporting locally led advocacy — a coordinated child sponsorship movement across Uganda.

Child health and wellbeing

Partnering with child-friendly healthcare providers and local insurers so sponsored children stay healthy and in school — with mentorship, counseling and safe spaces for emotional wellbeing.

Strengthening child support systems

Training and resourcing caregivers, and strengthening child protection mechanisms in schools, churches and communities — so children grow up with dignity and security, free from all forms of violence.

Who we serve

Underprivileged and vulnerable children aged 5–19 — orphans, children with disabilities, children living with HIV/AIDS, refugee and migrant children, children in rural and hard-to-reach areas, and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. We also strengthen the civil society, community-based and faith-based organizations that serve them at national and local levels.
